Prismacolor Premier Color Family Swatch Chart

About the Chart

This is a Swatch Chart I designed that sorts all 150* Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils in Color Family Order.

The Chart Features:

• All 150 Prismacolor Premier Pencil Colors
• Alternate Versions that factor in the discontinuation of Pencils 956 and 934 and their replacement pencils 1105 and 1104
• All of the pencils sorted into Color Families, which were determined by creating isolated swatches of all 150/152 colors and piecing them together by visual color similarity (Except for the Greys, Metallics, and Neons, which were sorted by their factory-issued numbers)
  • Please remember that Color is subjective—Everyone sees Color a little bit differently, so despite my best efforts you may not agree with every color placement within a family, and that's okay!
• Thicker outlines to help separate Color Groups within a Color Family; Some Color Groups contain only 2-3 colors, some contain as many as 7
• A Key that explains the assumed name of each Color Family (R - Reds, Y - Yellows, etc.)

Use the chart to keep track of which colors you already have and which ones you're missing, better organize your collection, and decide the best way to complete it, if you haven't already!

*There are 3 Versions of the Chart due to colors 956 (Lilac) and 934 (Lavender) being Discontinued by Prismacolor in December 2022 and Replaced by 1105 (Orchid) and 1104 (Amethyst) in May 2023.

• V1 Is the "Original" Version of the Chart that includes boxes for 956 & 934, but does NOT include boxes for 1105 & 1104
• V2 Includes boxes for both 956 & 934, AND 1105 & 1104 (Grand Total of 152 Colors!)
• V3 Does NOT Include boxes for 956 & 934, it ONLY includes boxes for 1105 & 1104

All versions are included so you can choose which chart best suits your needs depending on which pencils you have or plan to get.

Please Note:

The colored-in preview images are only an example of how the Chart may be used. The digital file you receive will not be colored in.

For Printing:

All of my full-page Swatch Charts were designed on an 11" x 8.5" (standard letter size paper) canvas with minimal or no margins as most printers will add the margins automatically. The resolution was also set to at least 300 dpi (sometimes higher), so the quality should be nice and crisp. I've found that I have the best results by printing the downloaded file from my computer (not just opening the image in a web browser and printing from there) and making sure that the option that says something like "Print Entire Image" or "Fit to Page" was selected in the options.
